H1N1 swine flu vaccine – Conspiracy time

After watching another video dealing with the Swine Flu Vaccine Conspiracy, I just couldn’t resist a comment, now that the vaccine is the talk of the world.
I am a sucker for conspiracy. We’ve established that. An old conspiratorial rule is that if you search hard enough, you will find evidence to support any and all conspiracies. The new aspect of this is that if you search Youtube hard enough, you will find videos to support any and all conspiracies.
The above video is one of many, but the sensationalist-telemarketing style of it makes it easier to watch, and maybe draw some conclusions before paranoia sets in.

Known facts so far: The H1N1 vaccine indeed seems to be a money-making opportunity grabbed by the pharmaceutical companies, and aided by the World Health Organization. (profit involved)
The Swine Flu is milder than regular flu, as proven by winter in Australia, but fear and panic is a lot more dangerous.
And last but nor least: People believe what they read first, what they are told second. If information is contradictory, they panic and blame the government.
The above docu-montage displays the usual array of mad activists, religious fanatics, weird people with PhD attached to their name and some not so weird. Some even make valid points against the vaccine.

Now for something less noisy:

This has some interesting facts: I was especially impressed that in the USA you cannot sue the companies if you die as a result of the vaccine (!). But the most impressive one of all is the vaccination-cancer connection back in 1909..

I cannot reach a conclusion here as easily as others. There is evidence on both sides, and both have been visibly (if you are not brain-dead) tampered with. It’s what I cannot see that scares me. The subtext. What each one stands to gain. What we have to lose..
The old X-Files line comes to mind: Trust No One.
It sounds pretty healthy to me in this day and age.

Ice on the Moon, fish on Europa (?)

image

Well, Nasa has officially announced that ice does exist on the Moon. Everyone expected it but now it’s official.

In another optimistic but nevertheless well-substantiated announce-ment, Jupiter’s moon Europa has enough oxygen in its oceans to support 3 million tons of fish, if indeed fish exist on Europa. That’s a lot of fish. Just wait till humans build a colony up there, and the (hypothetical) fish will not seem as many…

Thank you Crop Circle creators, whoever you are…

image

Photo and copyright Lucy Pringle

Well, taking into account the apparent solving of the above crop circle, witch seems to be a visual representation of pi, you know, circles and stuff, and watching yet another documentary on the subject, I had an interesting thought:

The creators of the crop circles, whoever they are, aliens, situationist artists, mathematicians on acid, have obviously succeeded in their goal: THEY HAVE BROADENED THE PUBLIC CONCIENCE TO ACCOMODATE THE UNKNOWN.
Now that seems kind of obvious, but think about that kind of stuff –UFOs, aliens, fairies, messages from elsewhere, parallel dimensions -  twenty years ago. It was all fringe, untouched by “mainstream” science, talked about in little groups of nerdy-looking people in shady cafes.. (I should know).
Now look at this. UFOs and crop circles are discussed in mainstream media and respectable universities conduct the investigations with state funding. Now that’s change!
It appears that the in-your-face approach of crop circles has done wonders for the human open-mindedness, what hundreds of books and thousands of lectures, apparently could not do.. The crop circles are there, huge, ubiquitous, and apparently the product of a major intelligence. Barring the chance of stoned kangaroos designing them, it appears that the effort was a well orchestrated one, perfectly executed, and the ideal prelude to an Unveiling of sorts.
The world is ready now, right?

Vampire Hunting Kits - great Christmas presents!

1800s-vampire-killing-kit.jpg

I just couldn’t resist.. This article in LAweekly has a list of the Vampire Hunting Kits out there, most of them going for outrageous amounts of money. There are those that are modern, Steampunk artistic creations and there are those that are old, matter-of-fact items, made in an era that supported the sale of such things outside the circle of artists.
You can also find Vampire-Werewolf combos (!) and more!
Read their stories and remember: I could really use one of these for Christmas. :)
You really never know when the world gets filled with fanged blood suckers coming after you.

Extraterrestrial Life Official Soon (?)

image
Sounds like another case of wishful thinking.. This article on UFOdigest, this piece on The Examiner and this one are all written by the same man, Michael E. Salla, Ph.D, the founder of exopolitics.org and author of Exopolitics: Political Implications of the Extraterrestrial Presence (Dandelion Books, 2004), still in print as you can see on the Amazon widget on the left..
image Salla is described as a pioneer in the development of Exopolitics, namely the research of the implications of extraterrestrial contact and presence. I haven’t read it but it sounds interesting, if a little wacky, since “He cites evidence of as many as seventeen different extraterrestrial civilizations currently interacting with humanity in a variety of ways, with a number of other civilizations simply monitoring the Earth. “ I could be wrong and he could be legit, but I imagine I would have heard of him before now if that was the case. I am going to get the book anyway though.
Now to his case for imminent disclosure of ET relations. In his article he claims that a reliable source informed two of his colleagues of a secret UN meeting that took place on February 12, 2008, at the New York offices of the United Nations. A secret UFO group within the UN supposedly alarmed by the number of UFO sightings, crop circles and cover-up speculation, advised the interested nations to reveal all contact and knowledge of ET life by 2013, concluding that the repercussions will not be as severe as was once feared.
2013? Well, that’s after the world ends, right?
Now Dr Salla’s sources tell him that disclosure will occur by the end of 2009! That’s correct, in a couple of months.
The article attaches a special significance to President Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize, and theorizes that his acceptance on December 10 may be a perfect opportunity to announce that we are not alone..
While his sources are a bit flaky to say the least (Hoagland? Seriously?), he manages to make some good points: Obama has gained worldwide acceptance and legitimacy not only by the Nobel Prize but by his efforts to give more power to the UN, clear up the corrupt parts of his country, namely the military, and minimize conflict while promoting peace.
All that does not prove a damn thing, but if such a world-changing, paradigm-shifting disclosure was ever to be made, Obama is the most likely candidate, and the time is now more than ever.
Far chance but we’ll know in a couple of months, won’t we?

Doomsday Obsession and the Carter Catastrophe

Doomsday Clock past Midnight

It is a fact that in the last 20 or so years we have been bombarded with Doomsday scenarios, usually handed down by our ancestors and revived with modern data. Not limited to that, several modern variations emerged, some serious, some wacky and religion-oriented.
The 2012 Mayan Calendar Doomsday scenario is just around the corner, with Hollywood already capitalizing on the anticipation, as it tried to do on the Millennium Doomsday-Y2K craze. Things are gearing up..

Let’s see what the actual Mayans have to say about that, their descendants, that is.
In this photo taken Oct. 3, 2009, Guatemalan Mayan Indian elder ...
Apolinario Chile Pixtun is a Mayan elder from Guatemala. To him, there is no catastrophe waiting at the end of the Mayan Calendar, Dec 21, 2012. The whole Doomsday concept is a Western, not Mayan idea.
In his words : "I came back from England last year and, man, they had me fed up with this stuff."
Several other scholars agree that contemporary Mayans have no beliefs of an impending End-of-World event, but, then again, maybe their ancestors did..

The Mayan time period that ends on Dec 21 2012, happens to coincide with an astronomical alignment that happens every 25.800 years (!). At that date the sun will rise and appear to be at the exact same spot as the center of our Milky Way galaxy… At the exact morning of the exact day, when the sacred, 13th Baktun ends. The Baktuns, 394 year time-periods of the Mayans, started on 3.114 BC and end on, well, you know when…

To finish the Mayan case, here comes Monument Six. A stone tablet discovered in the 60’s, looted and partially destroyed by paving equipment, it contains the date 2012 and..

..The inscription describes something that is supposed to occur in 2012 involving Bolon Yokte, a mysterious Mayan god associated with both war and creation… Archaeologist Guillermo Bernal of Mexico's National Autonomous University interprets the last eroded glyphs as maybe saying, "He will descend from the sky."

The Mayans surely predicted stuff fro 2012, but not the End of Days, since other inscriptions refer to dates far exceeding 2012, as far as 4772. Not that it proves anything, but it sounds strangely reassuring.

Now let’s move on to modern prophets of Doom, namely Brandon Carter, an Australian physicist who, in 1983, proposed the Doomsday Argument (DA), also called the Carter Catastrophe. The probabilistic argument it makes is that it can predict the end of the human species just by calculating how many humans have been born thus far, and the probability of an extinction level event…
The math is a bit obscure, but the point I am trying to make is that Doomsday as a concept is finely engraved in our genes, thought patterns, you name it. The bottom line is that WE WANT SOMETHING TO HAPPEN. As simple as that.
Overpopulation, hunger, resources, climate, the little lemming colony knows that something is wrong, and is desperately trying to find a cliff..

What the overfed Prophets of Doom don’t realize is that their predictions are already old news, and that Doomsday is Happening. It will not come in tidal waves or tectonic plate movements, not just yet.

We as a species will continue to predict that which is already upon us, not even realizing 1% of the implications.
As this article says, “Doomsday is already upon us; we haven’t gotten to the nasty bits, just yet.”
The Change is slow, and not easily perceived by the lemming colony, except maybe as a little restlessness.  The cliff is forming.

Structure on the Moon (my ass)

This video is too precious not to share, at least with those who haven’t seen it since it seems to be 2 years old.

Overlooking the obvious comments, wouldn’t it be cool if it where real? This is art. It really is. (not taking into account the extreme glow added in post to hide the fact that it was filmed on an abandoned factory on earth).

I think I want to start a whole Fake Video Movement from scratch, just to see what people will think of. And of course I want to make some of my own. Stay tuned.
